4) Bayonetta 2

Japan Version / Final Score Version

I should start this off with a confession. I didn’t actually beat Bayonetta 2. I rented it from a local Redbox and got through probably two-thirds of it and then had to return it. There’s a chance the ending is awful and I’ll never know, but I’ve decided that if that’s true I don’t want to know.

The second entry in the franchise turned out to be far better than the first. That’s saying a lot, since the first Bayonetta was very good. The combat was insanely fun, and I kept wanting to play just one more battle.

Unfortunately, the story just didn’t do it for me, which is why I haven’t picked up a copy to finish the game. As fun as the combat was, I just never felt a need to go back and see how things ended.
