Bravely Second Release Date Set For Japan
Bravely Second, the long-awaited sequel to the popular Square Enix RPG Bravely Default, has received an official release date in Japan, with no word yet on a Western release, Siliconera reports. Originally, the game was announced for this winter, so it seems to have been pushed back just a bit. The Bravely Second release in Japan will be on April 23, 2015, and a demo will become available in the Japanese eShop tomorrow, December 10th.
There will also be a collector’s pack available for Japanese purchases for 14,800 yen. It will include a “200 Years Later” art book and novel, a soundtrack, a notebook, an Agnes figurine, a Magnolia strap, and a code for as-yet-unknown extra in-game content.
As successful as Bravely Default was here, let’s hope they do eventually bring the game to the west. A long time period between Japanese and western release dates wouldn’t be surprising, as there was about a year and a half between Bravely Default’s initial Japanese release and its North American one. In the meantime, we’ll have to be content with what we hear from overseas about this strange, FF-like RPG.
