Atlus Teases Etrian Odyssey V

During a NicoNico livestream today, Atlus revealed Etrian Odyssey V. The trailer revealed very little, and the dialogue is in Japanese, so not much more can be said about the game for now. However, the presence of subtitles for much of the text in English (including the title) is rather promising for those hoping it will be released in the west, especially considering it’s predecessor, Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of The Titan, did fairly well stateside.

You can watch the trailer here:

Siliconera reports that Atlus recently opened up two Japanese teaser websites, one titled “X” and the other, “D”. “D” was previously revealed as a collaboration of Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon, while “X” is Etrian Odyssey V. The links provided don’t seem to exist at this time, and may have been taken down since the reveals. The websites contained few details, and mainly consisted of images of a giant tree. But regardless of the level of detail, it looks like Etrian Odyssey is confirmed to be forging ahead into a fifth game, and will likely make it to North America. Hopefully they’ll continue the series’ success on the 3DS (perhaps on the New 3DS?), which has proved to be an appropriate platform for this dungeon crawler RPG.
