With no running game whatsoever, Denver’s offense sputtered throughout this game. Peyton Manning was able to move the football occasionally, but could not sustain any offensive success on his own. Arizona held Denver to just 23 rushing yards, with 13 of those coming on one Peyton Manning scramble late in the game.
Arizona didn’t do much offensively either, with seven drives ending in punts. Part of this was due to the fact that they were consistently starting drives in the shadow of their own endzone. When they did move the ball though, they made it count. The Cardinals were able to score on all three possessions in which they were able to cross into Denver territory.
