This game have been even more lopsided than the score suggests. Dallas’ only scores came after a Drew Brees fumble and after a long kickoff return. Dallas was unable to sustain any drives in this game.
Of course, part of Dallas’ problems on offense were because quarterback Tony Romo was injured on the team’s opening drive and did not return to the game. Backup Brandon Wheeden came in threw four interceptions even though he only attempted 18 passes.
Brees only attempted 27 passes for the Saints in this game. With a big lead for most of the game, New Orleans fed the ball to running back Mark Ingram, who racked up 183 rushing yards.
