Pittsburgh Steelers @ Carolina Panthers
This game got out of hand quickly, with Carolina turning the ball over on their first three offensive possessions, and had five turnovers overall. The Carolina defense was able to hold the Steelers to field goals after the first two turnovers, but the flood gates opened up after that.
Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 71% of his passes, for 278 yards and four touchdowns. The Steelers also averaged 5.4 yards per rushing attempt as a team, Le’Veon Bell doing the heavy lifting on the ground for Pittsburgh.
For the Panthers, this was simply a day worth forgetting. They averaged just 2.1 yards per rushing attempt, and quarterback Cam Newton finished with just 149 yards passing.
