Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants
This wasn’t so much of a defensive showdown as it was two offenses that appeared to be scared to score points. Dropped passes and unblocked pass rushers were far too common in this game to give the defenses all the credit for the low scores.
Neither of the quarterbacks in this game topped 200 yards passing, and both had at least one interception. It was an especially bad game for Arizona’s Carson Palmer, who had just 178 yards through the air despite having 41 passing attempts.
The running games weren’t much better. The Cardinals average just 2.7 yards per carry, and the Giants managed just 3.1 yards per carry. Add in three combined fumbles (though all three were recovered by offensive players) and you have one really bad game for both offenses.
