St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This was a hard fought game that neither team ever controlled by more than one score. The final outcome wasn’t decided until Josh McCown’s go-ahead touchdown pass with just seven seconds remaining.
It was an up-and-down game for McCown. While he was the hero at the end, he also was close to being the goat as well. It was his fourth-quarter interception that helped the Rams take the lead late in the game.
For the Rams, quarterback Shawn Hill had a dreadful game. He completed just 44 percent of his passes and only had 169 passing yards. St. Louis would likely have been blown out in this game had it not been for running back Eddie Lacy. Lacy’s 132 yards rushing were the only reason the Rams had a shot to win this game.
Overall it was a sloppy game in which both teams has two interceptions and missed field goal.
Interestingly, the game’s constant back-and-forth scoring led to four 3-point conversion attempts, of which the only one that was successful came at the very end of the game.
