After a series of leaks, beginning with the title on a Swedish website and culminating in a since-removed trailer, Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, for release on November 11.

IGN reports that a trailer for the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise was leaked this morning. The game was confirmed for Xbox 360 and PS3, and will likely not be released on newer consoles. The leaked trailer was quickly removed, but was followed by an official trailer and new information on Ubiblog regarding the new title. GameInformer has also announced that Rogue will be featured on the cover of their next issue. You can view the official trailer here:

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue takes place during the Seven Years’ War, and features Shay Patrick Cormac, a former-assassin-turned-templar.  Shay must hunt down his former brothers in the frigid north Atlantic, as they simultaneously search for him in a tale of betrayal and vengeance. Rogue will feature new weapons and the return of naval combat on Shay’s ship: The Morrigan.

Rogue will complete the Assassin’s Creed saga staged in North America, filling in the gap between Connor in Assassin’s Creed 3 and the Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. Shay will also have deeper ties to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Ubisoft has promised further detail on the new weapons and naval mechanics on Ubiblog at 12:00PM PDT.
