If you’re fiending for another dose of turn-based strategy for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you won’t have to wait much longer.

Thanks to 2K, you’ll be able to play the latest mobile Civilization game in less than two weeks. The company announced that Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 (which I hereby move to be called CivRev 2) is coimg to iOS devices on July 2, with an Android version “coming soon.” It is, as the name suggests, the sequel to the original Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, which can claim to be one of the O.G.’s of mobile strategy games since it was released in 2009.

As with other games in the franchise, CivRev 2 will ask players to guide a civilization from humble beginnings at the dawn of humanity and build it into a lasting society that endures into the 21st Century. This means filling the shoes of leaders like Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi or Napoleon, along with new additions like Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy. It also means defeating them via war, diplomacy or economic might since they could all be leading empires of their own.

A lot has changed technology wise since its predecessor, but CivRev 2 is being designed with all of these advancements in mind. 2K says that “the game will combine the core tactical elements of the series with intuitive controls and a friendly user interface – designed specifically for mobile gamers on touch-pad devices.”

Sounds like something that will have a lot of mobile gamers asking to play just… one… more… turn. Look for Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 (I’ll spell it out again for its final mention) on the iOS App Store the first Thursday of July.
