Red Bull Battle Grounds Unveils Qualifiers, eSports Studio

Most of us are never going to be able to play StarCraft II on anything approaching a professional level, let alone with the skill necessary to mix it up with the best in the world at the Red Bull Battle Grounds Final later this year in Washington D.C. But for anyone whose game is on the verge of breaking through, there are more opportunities than ever to beat the odds and get there.

That’s because Red Bull revealed three more open qualifiers that will grant players a spot in the finals, beginning this weekend with Red Bull Battle Grounds North America. This online qualifier will take place in three stages on June 1, June 3 and June 9, with six North American players moving on to a final round of competition held June 17-19. Once the dust clears, one player will emerge victorious and head to Red Bull Battle Grounds Final.

Two more online qualifiers will follow later this summer, both open to players all over the globe. They’ll also produce one more finalist each, meaning three people will qualify who may not be full-time pros. The D.C. field will also include last year’s champion (PartinG) and runner-up (sOs), along with the winners of tour stops in Atlanta and Detroit and one MLG wild card player as shown in the graphic below:

The championship rounds of the online qualifiers will take place in the brand new Red Bull eSports Studio in Santa Monica, described as “a year-round broadcast and training venue” designed to allow both pros and hopefuls alike to hone their skills. Its located within Red Bull Media House North America headquarters and is packed full of top of the line broadcast and gaming tech.

Open registration for the North America qualifier is going on right now, so don’t delay if you want your own shot at StarCraft II glory.
