Quantum Break To Be Released In 2015

It looks like, other than Sunset Overdrive, the Xbox One may be out of exclusives for the rest of the year. Remedy Entertainment has just announced via trailer that science-fiction, time-bending, cover-based shooter Quantum Break will launch in 2015. More accurately, the video’s description reads as follows:

"Remedy gives fans a sneak peek at Quantum Break before its official reveal at Gamescom. Launching in 2015, Quantum Break will deliver an unprecedented fusion of cinematic gameplay and high-quality, live-action storytelling."

30 seconds of new gameplay footage will be all we get to satisfy our needs until gamescom, as it is likely we will get a lot more gameplay action at that time. We do, however, get to see soldiers in mechanized armor, over-the-shoulder third-person shooting, a variety of texture coloring and hand-to-hand combat.

While Quantum Break never had an official release date or timeframe announced, it is rather disappointing to see that it won’t make it to store shelves by the end of the year. That means that both PS4 and Xbox One have one AAA exclusive title each being released by the end of 2014. While there are a ton of third-party games coming out in October (seriously, pick another month, publishers!), the compelling reasons to pick up a new console from either company are dwindling by the day.

Perhaps we will get a bigger picture about what the Xbox One has to offer, as well as the PS4 and Wii U, during the days of conferences at E3 2014 in the coming weeks. Quantum Break is an Xbox One exclusive now coming within the year of 2015.
