False Alarm! Your Ubisoft Account Info Was Not Hacked
There have been some reports published by websites like GameSpot and Kotaku, indicating that Ubisoft had been hacked. By their accounts, the advisement was to change the password of your Ubisoft account, as well as any other account outside of Ubisoft that uses that password. Fortunately, they had been linking to a security intrusion that occurred around June 28th of 2013.
Furthermore, the Communications Manager for Ubisoft has made it clear on Twitter that this is not a repeat issue, either.
Great news; you don’t have to change any account information. If it were true, however, it would make for one of the more ironic acts of criminal activity, as Ubisoft’s hacking open-world action-adventure game Watch Dogs was released earlier today.
Speaking of, you can pick up Watch Dogs on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 today, and on Wii U hopefully by the end of the year.
