First Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Trailer Released

Showing gameplay footage is immeasurably better to the fans of a video game than releasing a CGI trailer that is not reflective of the game’s quality. That’s why it’s much more exciting on Rocksteady and Warner Bros’ behalf to be revealing the first Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay trailer, which highlights one of the newer aspects of the Arkham series; the Batmobile.

While it’s unclear if that impressive car can play Gotham’s Top 40 hits on the radio, it can be used like in the classic Batman movies and ride up along the sides of tunnels, turn on a dime, launch rockets and essentially serve as a transportable arm of Batman’s justice arsenal.

Additionally, this Arkham Knight gameplay video highlights some of the technological upgrades that the developers can be afforded while working solely on PC/PS4/Xbox One: colorful explosions using particle effects, a much higher focus on visual/graphical fidelity and a mightily-improved lighting engine. It’s a move that will only get more and more exciting as publishers and developers decide that cross-gen will only hold back the quality of their product.

Batman: Arkham Knight is slated for an October 14th release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Make sure to check out the Arkham Knight gameplay trailer, released by PlayStation, at the top.
