Actually, what the title of this post is referring to is the fourth module or expansion forNeverwinter, Perfect World and Cryptic’s free-to-play MMO set in the Forgotten Realms world made famous byDungeons & Dragons. It’s also tied closely to the tabletop RPG storyline of the same name that features an evil cult that is trying to resurrect Tiamat, an incredibly powerful Chromatic Dragon that I remember being spoken about in hushed tones during myD&Ddays a few decades ago.
“This is a pivotal year forDungeons & Dragonsand we are thrilled to have Perfect World and Cryptic on board to makeNeverwintera key part of theD&Dexperience as we transition to the future,”Dungeons & DragonsBrand Director Nathan Stewart said in a press release. “The new Tyranny of Dragons module is just the beginning of us bringing our new serialized entertainment to the fans of both tabletop and digital games.”
Since the current module, Curse of Icewind Dale, was just released last week, the developers aren’t shedding any light on Tyranny of Dragons just yet. Maybe we’ll be able to get something out of them at E3, but if not, you can at least rest assured that more content is on the way during the dog days of summer — or maybe we’ll call them the dragon days after this.
