Have you bought Child of Light yet? You really should. It’s easily my favorite game of the year so far. In fact, the only reason I would recommend you hold off buying it at all is the hope that Child of Light would release on Sony’s PlayStation Vita, as it would be a great fit for that handheld.
Unfortunately, at the time of release no version was announced. Given that the Vita is basically dead in the water, there was a good chance it might never come. Fortunately, we now know that is not the case, as Joystiq is reporting that Child of Light will be released on the Vita in Europe and the US this July.
The US release will be digital only, which is a shame because the UK is getting a pretty sweet boxed retail version that includes a new character, a new quest and a collectibles pack. That is the exact kind of thing that would make double-dipping on this game a no-brainer. That being said, the ability to play this wonderful game on the go might be enough motivation anyways.
What do you think, GameSided readers? Do you already own Child of Light? What do you think of the game? Are you excited for the Vita version? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
