Ultra Street Fighter IV Finally Gets A Release Date
The popular fighting game series Street Fighter will see its fourth major iteration obtain a major upgrade, and now we know of the release dates for all versions. As announced through a Capcom press release, Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released in North America as a digital upgrade download for current Street Fighter IV users on June 3rd for the PS3 and on June 4th for the Xbox 360, at $14.99. Meanwhile, on August 5th the game will see a $39.99 physical release in stores that comes with all Street Fighter IV content, characters and costumes. A full digital standalone bundle will become available online that same day for the same price. The Steam version of Ultra Street Fighter IV goes on sale August 8th, at $29.99, alongside the traditional $14.99 upgrade version.
With the roster count boosting to 44 with the new additions of Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento and Decapre, Ultra Street Fighter IV looks to bring new matchups, character skill and attribute changes to casual and competitive players. Those who pre-order the game (from certain retailers) will receive the 2014 Challengers Costume Pack for free, providing costumes for Jungle Elena, Medieval Hugo, Pirate Poison, Wizard Rolento and Gladiator Decapre. You can check out the pre-order trailer at the bottom of the article.
Now that Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released in June, it will be interesting to see how the game’s toughest competitors in the FGC will see the rebalancing of the characters, in addition to the new ones. Who knows, we might see an entirely different landscape of usable characters at Evo later this year.
Ultra Street Fighter IV is coming out later this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
