1. Grand Theft Auto V
Other games were (and continue to be) released for seventh-gen consoles, but GTA V is probably always going to be thought of as the magnum opus of open world action-adventure. I still think GTA III was more revolutionary, but it’s hard to argue with the impact this game made on the industry.
I won’t go so far as to say Rockstar can do no wrong, because other developers have experienced slumps after seeming bulletproof in the past. But it does seem wise to think that whenever the studio eventually reveals where it’s taking this series on the PS4 and Xbox One, it’s going to make gamers’ jaws drop. That means GTA VI could be even bigger (if that’s even possible), which is incredible to even consider.
