2. Civilization V
I’ve got a soft spot for the Civ games, so if I was organizing this list based on my own tastes, it’d be number one. I played the crap out of its predecessor and lost significant amounts of time to this one as well.
Some people didn’t care for the way Civ V streamlined some aspects of the gameplay and outright eliminated others, but I dug the changes for the most part. They certainly didn’t make beating the AI any easier, as the tougher difficulty settings were downright brutal. And yet, I always had fun while getting my butt kicked. That’s a sign of a good game.
