Despite its birth out of the worst Star Wars movie, Episode 1: Racer expanded upon one of the most exciting aspects of The Phantom Menace: podracing. Players didn’t even have to use annoying young Anakin Skywalker! Pick a racer, upgrade their pod, adjust the winnings selection and race on several planets within the Star Wars universe. Racer felt fast, balanced, gradually difficult and, most importantly, fun.
