Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Exclusive DLC No Longer Exclusive
I get the idea of platform-exclusive DLC. It doesn’t buy off a publisher into not allowing any other console company access to the game while providing a little bonus to entice users to buy your version of the game. However, I am relieved to hear from a Konami press release that the platform-exclusive DLC for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (both Jamais Vu for Xbox and Deja Vu for PlayStation) will become available for all platforms starting May 1st.
For such a short game (when it comes to non-collectible-seeking story and extra ops missions), it’s nice of Konami to open up the exclusive DLC so that both sides can experience the grass on the other side. However, my concern on behalf of multi-console owners is if they made the decision of which console version of Ground Zeroes to buy based on the exclusive DLC. Even though the PS4 version runs at 1080p and the Xbox One version runs at 720p, not everyone owns a full 1080p TV, or even care about the differences if they got to play as Raiden on the Xbox versions.
Either way, all owners of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will have access to all previously-exclusive content in a free update starting May 1st.
