Red Bull is going even bigger with its StarCraft II eSports plans for 2014.
Building on the success it had last year, Red Bull Battle Grounds is expanding to include more events. Both Atlanta (July 11 to 13) and Detroit (August 22 to 24) will host tour stops, setting the stage for the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Finals in Washington D.C. in September.
For the first time, players in the Red Bull events will earn points in Blizzard’s StarCraft II World Championship Series. On top of that, the Atlanta and Detroit tournaments will feature an open format so up-and-comers will have a chance to win their way into the spotlight against top pro players.
More details about registration, live venue information and streaming plans for all of the Red Bull Battle Ground stops will be revealed in the weeks to come. The best ways to stay up to date are to become a frequent visitor to the Red Bull eSports page, or just to keep an eye out here on Gamesided.
