5. The Writing
Ok maybe “desperately” needing to fix the writing is a stretch. You buy Skylanders games for the cool figures and the surprisingly solid Diablo-light gameplay. The writing has never been a strong point, but it totally could be. As of now cut-scenes are something you skip to get the action because, frankly, they are terrible. It’s been repeatedly shown that there is indeed a place for smart writing in kids properties. I mean, just look at most DC animated shows or stuff like Avatar: The Last Airbender; improving the writing improves the product and keeps the kids more engaged and would be a huge boon for older fans as well.
