"Veteran Nintendo designer Yoshio Sakamoto has said he would like to “satisfy” fans of the classic franchises he’s worked on in the past, but also challenge himself to take them in new directions.Sakamoto-san, whose latest title is the unique 3DS social sim Tomodachi Life, has worked on nine previous Metroid games, usually as director or producer, including the 1986 original and all the flagship SNES, GameCube and Wii successors.He has also worked on the likes of Kid Icarus and Balloon Fight."


"If you release a popular video game, especially on PC, chances are someone is trying to do the fastest speed run through it. Some without any aids, others with, and typically doing so much faster because of them. The original Half-Life is one such game, and it has just had the world record speed run time reduced by 9 minutes.The unscripted speed run through the game can be done in just under 37 minutes, which is incredible in itself. Start adding in game manipulation, bugs, and scripts, and the world record fastest time was set at 29 minutes and 41 seconds. That is, until a few days ago. The new world record now stands at just 20 minutes and 41 seconds."
