First In-Game Footage From Blood Bowl 2

We’ve seen quite a bit of still images from Blood Bowl 2, but what we haven’t seen yet is the new game engine in action. Cyanide and Focus Home Interactive took care of that today with the first in-game footage video, which you can see below.

Featuring two of the most storied teams in Blood Bowl history — the Human Reikland Reavers and the Orc Gouged Eye — the video shows off the new scalable stadiums, player detailing and dynamic camera angles we’ve been hearing about. It’s also got Jim Johnson and Bob Bifford on commentary, helping to bring the rich atmosphere made famous in the Games Workshop tabletop game to the upcoming video game.

Just in case you’re one of the unfortunate souls who has never played Blood Bowl in any form, think of it as football with a heavy dose of fantasy mayhem since it’s set in the Warhammer world. Where real life teams worry about concussions and torn ACLs, these teams hope to have everyone survive in one piece, a task made harder by illegal weapons, corrupt officials, magic spells and fans who have known to invade the playing field.

Blood Bowl 2 features a revamped solo campaign, a league mode and a multiplayer mode that Cyanide is promising will “drive the players wild.” It doesn’t have a release date yet, so stay tuned for more information as it comes out.
