Ubisoft Toronto Director Leaves For Warner Bros. Montreal Studio

Patrick Redding, game director for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series (Blacklist, Conviction) and game designer for Far Cry 2, has left Ubisoft Toronto. He’ll be taking the 401 highway all the way into Quebec, as a GameSpot report indicates that he’ll be taking a new job at a Creative Director at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. This is according to his Linkedin profile.

Ubisoft Toronto is taking a sizeable hit to their staff, as his direction guided the completion of the studio’s first developed title of their own in Blacklist. Bringing in someone of Redding’s caliber indicated that Warner Bros. Games Montreal could be working on a major title going forward. However, with Batman: Arkham Knight being developed at Rocksteady, it is unlikely that Redding will be brought on to work on a game within that franchise. At least, not in a AAA game manner.
