Super Smash Bros Melee Returns At Evo 2014

After the initial roster was revealed for Evo 2014, it seemed odd that Super Smash Bros Melee was not included on the list. Thankfully, that period of darkness has come to an end, as tournament host Shoryuken has announced that Super Smash Bros Melee will, in fact, be represented as a tournament at this year’s fighting game community tournament.

This means that the current slate of official tournaments will include for the following games:

  • Ultra Street Fighter IV
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Killer Instinct
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
  • King of Fighters XIII
  • BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma
  • Super Smash Bros Melee

There are fewer games already announced than last year’s total at Evo 2013, meaning that the final lineup may not be set in stone just yet. It will be just under 4 month’s time until Evo 2014 is set to take place, plenty of time for fans of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Skullgirls to make their voices heard.

Evo 2014, now featuring Super Smash Bros Melee, will run from July 11 to July 13 later this year.
