The launch of the PlayStation 4 in Japan last weekend was a much larger success than the launch of the PS3 in the country seven years ago. According to a report byFamitsu(translation required), the PS4 sold 322,083 consoles in its opening weekend.
This is up from the88kthe PS3 moved during it’s launch. The number still doesn’t come close to the reported630,552PS2 systems sold during its launch weekend in the country 14 years ago.
