The mainstream media is at it again. After information regarding an alleged Craigslist serial killer was released, including what games the killer liked to play in her “free time”. The game in question this time around isDark Souls,and Fox News, being the great journalistic network that it is, has decided to include the game as a reasoning for her decision to, allegedly, murder approximately 22 peoples.
The media’s attack against violent video games causing people to commit violent acts is as redundant as a typewriter. It’s gotten to the point that one can’t help but flat out laugh anytime a video game is linked to someone who commits a crime. While there may be some instances in which it may be true, newer studies show that games have theexact opposite effecton most.
