Honorable Mention: Call of Duty
There is no denying the impact that theCall of Dutyfranchise has had in the world of first person shooters. Without the success ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the popularity of this genre likely wouldn’t be at the height it’s at today.
Despite the financial success that the series continues to see, I feel that the Call of Duty franchise was in its heyday withCall of Duty 2 and 3. Those games, though having there issues, were just fun. I didn’t worry about perks and prestiging my character. The only thing I had to worry about was killing the enemy.
