Sega: 2014 Is The Year of Sonic

Sega apparently has big plans for its speedy blue mascot Sonic: The Hedgehog in 2014. According to a video from Machinima, which has now been set to private, Sega has released a promotional poster with the headline of “2014: Year of Sonic.”

In addition to the headline, the poster, which you can see above, also reveals the following text:

"2014 will mark a renaissance for Sonic the Hedgehog. Please join us to be the first to hear about SEGA’s exclusive announcements and plans for the Sonic brand."

The reason for the video being set to private is unclear, but it could very well be assumed that Machinima’s “Is Sonic Dead?” video just let a large cat out of the bag that Sega didn’t want revealed just yet. Many members of the Sega team are on a business trip in New York City, including the “Sonic” brand manager, Aaron Webber. There is also the issue of this game listing at the Nuremburg Toy Fair that revealed a Sonic game for PS4, Wii U and Xbox One.
