Console Sales Update: PS4 Leading The Pack

The latest video game sales charts have been released, and for the week of January 19-25, it was the PlayStation 4 from Sony that lead the way in worldwide sales.

The PS4 sold 146,409 total consoles. The Nintendo 3DS came in second with 134,129 units sold while the Xbox One came in third at 76,995.

The Wii U finished fifth last week at 42,318 which didn’t even surpass the numbers that the Xbox One or PS4 did in North America alone.

A big reason for the PS4s success in sales last week, and every week it seems, is its strong fan base in Europe. Sony sold 61, 285 systems last week in Europe whereas Microsoft watched only 17, 884 Xbox Ones get sold overseas.
