PS Plus Accounts Have Tripled

The launch of the PlayStation 4 has caused the amount of active PlayStation Plus accounts to triple, according to Sony.

Speaking at the PS Vita Slim event held by Sony on Thursday,  Sony UK head Fergal Gara stated that while the need for a PS Plus account in order to play multiplayer on the PS4 certainly has a lot to do with the increase in the number of accounts, he thinks that the overall value of the service is what really lead to the increase in sales.

Mike’s Musings: I’d like to see how many of the PS users actively play on PS3 compared to PS4. I personally think that that comparison is the only way to truly tell if the service and offers players get by being members is what’s primarily causing the increase. That’s something to keep an eye out for.
