Wii U 2014 Software Lineup Confirmed
wii uNintendo held its latest investor briefing on Wednesday night — Thursday morning in Japan — and during which it released the list of games confirmed for a 2014 release on the Wii U console. The list, which you can find below, confirms titles like Super Smash Bros. and Hyrule Warriors for a 2014 release. The 2014 date for Hyrule Warriors remains subject to change, however.
One glaring omission from the list is Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. You can read more on that news HERE.

- Hyrule Warriors (temp.) – 2014
- Super Smash Bros. For Wii U – 2014
- Bayonetta 2 – 2014
- A brand new title developed by Monolith Software – 2014

Mike’s Musings: I won’t touch on the Watch Dogs issue since you can read my thoughts on the matter at this post, but in terms of what is on the list, I must say that the third party catalog is extremely limited. With a console looking to attract gamers away from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you would think that Nintendo would do whatever it took to grab as many third party titles as possible. Of course, it is possible that more games that we haven’t heard of get announced for the system for release this year, but that scenario just doesn’t seem likely. That being said, the release of Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 this year makes owning the Wii U worth it in my book.
