Mario Kart 8 Coming In May

Nintendo had an investor conference on Wednesday night — the same day the company released Q3 financial details — and during the conference gave some details into what 2014 has to hold for the Nintendo brand, including information regarding the release of a popular series.

According to analyst David Gibson, who provided translations of the conference throughout the night, Mario Kart 8 will be releasing in May. The release date is for Japan, but past Mario Kart games have released in Japan and North America within days of each other which makes a May release for the game highly likely.

The game will apparently have an increased focus on the Wii U’s gamepad. This focus includes faster load up time which will allow players quickly setting up the game without the use of the TV.
