Injustice: Gods Among Us Mobile Game Celebrates One Billion Play Sessions
By Nick Tylwalk
McDonald’s may have served billions and billions of customers hamburgers and fries, but the “Injustice: Gods Among Us” mobile game recently hit an impressive 10-digit milestone of its own. That’d be one billion play sessions across iOS and Android devices. Yes, billion, with a ‘b.’
To celebrate, anyone who plays between today and Sunday, February 2 will receive 30,000 free power credits, enough to power up some of any character’s super moves. Consider them a thank you from NetherRealm Studios (iOS) and Virtuous (Android) for validating their hard work.
The free-to-play mobile version of “Injustice” features a collectible card game framework as you attempt to build a powerful team of heroes and villains to fight through the many levels of battles that await. Though the gameplay is simplified quite a bit from that of its console cousin, it’s perfect for touchscreen devices, and the fact that you can unlock bonuses for the console game by playing on mobile (and vice versa) has proven quite popular.
Will Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment authorize more freebies when two billion play sessions are hit? Better get playing and find out.
