By the Numbers: World of Warcraft: Azeroth
It’s been 10 years since Blizzard flipped the switch on the servers for a brand new MMO known as World of Warcraft. Since then, over 500 million characters have been created by 100 million players during the game’s life span.
To celebrate 10 years of Azeroth, Blizzard has released a cool infographic — which you can find HERE — detailing a list of “epic statistics”. In World of Warcraft, 244 countries are represented by the players. Every continent, yes, even Antartica, is represented by the players.
Only one percent of the 500 million characters have remained neutral with their allegiances between the Alliance and the Horde. Of all the titles available for players, the three most popular are “The Patient”, “Jenkins” and “Assistant Professor”, in that order. Every day in Azeroth there are 900K PvE battles, and 670K PvP battles. There are even 3.6 million pet battles each day.
Speaking of pets, the squirrel is the most common pet in the game while the tiny red carp is the rarest.
