From here on out, the list becomes more fluid and more of a collective “Cream of the crop” that is 2004’s excellence. For example, Rome: Total War is considered by many to be the best strategy game of all time. The amount of detail put into the factions, armies, buildings and the overarching control of your desired people makes for a harrowing experience. You could put a hundred hours into Total War and feel like you’ve just scratched the surface.
