Hardware Sales Update: PlayStation 4 Leads the Way

The latest weekly sales charts have been released courtesy of VGChartz.com, and it’s the Playstation 4 that lead the way in global unit sales for the week of January 5-11.

The PS4 moved 187,997 units Worldwide last week; 74,704 PS4s were sold in North America. Coming in second last week was the Nintendo 3DS which sold 171,784 total units. The Xbox One finished third in sales with 106,010 units sold. The Wii U only sold 53,040 total consoles — 22,354 in North America — to continue on with its struggle to sell to consumers.

The Xbox One outsold the PS4 in North America with 75,559 leaving store shelves and warehouses. In Europe, however, the PS4 sold more than three times as many units as the Xbox One.  In total, the PS4 has sold 4.6-million units whereas the Xbox One has sold just 3.2.
