5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Even though my very first game was Duck Hunt on the NES, my first real gaming moments that I remember were on the SNES. Although it wasn’t my favorite game on the platform, The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past was a quality Link game that would be considered one of the best in the series if it weren’t for Ocarina of Time.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds does a great job of adapting the play of old with game mechanics of new. Despite not being a fan of the idea of the item rental system, the return to dungeon sequence-breaking was a great addition to the handheld title. It is complemented by excellent dungeon design, a detailed world with plenty of hidden secrets and keeping gameplay fresh enough that you could play it for hours at a time. Despite it being extremely easy, A Link Between Worlds gives 3DS owners the best action game on the platform.
