RUMOR: The Division Not Coming Until 2015

The latest game backed by the late, great Tom Clancy known as The Division stole the show back at E3 2013 in June. Media, gamers and developers alike were enamored at the thoughts of playing this online shooter in the near future. Unfortunately, however, it appears players will have to wait a bit longer than expected to get their hands on the game that many insiders believe will truly show the power of the next-gen consoles.

According to Gamereactor, a source from the game’s development team claims that the game will not be released in 2014.

“The game engine works well, it’s not done but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however,” the source, speaking anonymously, told GameReactor. “The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It’s a large project, and we have very far to go.”

No official word has come from Ubisoft regarding a possible delay into 2015 for the game, but if it does happen, it would be the third major title developed by Ubisoft to be delayed. Both Watch Dogs and The Crew, which were expected to launch with the next-gen consoles, were both delayed late last year into 2014 due to the games not being where Ubisoft wanted them to be.

If an official announcement of a delay is made, Gamesided will bring it to you as soon as it comes down.
