Dark District

Kabam has been courting mid-core gamers for a while, and that strategy continues with the launch of the sci-fi combat strategy game “Dark District.” It’s tower defense, but with an important twist: players actually have full control over the mechs they use while battling in a 3D world.

In both PvE and PvP modes, players are able to build armies of mechs, ground and air vehicles as they fight for the fate of a remote mining colony that has been cut off from daylight but also might hold the key to an incredible new source of energy.

“’Dark District’ rises above the countless number of tower defense games on the market,” Andrew Sheppard, president of Kabam Studios, said in a press release  “By creating a high-fidelity 3D world that pushes the graphical capabilities of the latest hardware and empowers players to control every aspect of combat, ‘Dark District’ achieves a visceral gameplay experience that blows past player expectations.”

“Dark District” is out now for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and an Android release is in the works as well.
