VGX 2013: Grand Theft Auto V Wins Game Of The Year

The biggest award at VGX 2013 was sandwiched between a couple major exclusive trailers, but that didn’t stop it from being the focal point of the show.

In a battle of major titles, Grand Theft Auto V took home the award for Game of the Year at this year’s event. The game beat out Bioshock: Infinite, Grand Theft Auto 5, Super Mario 3D World, The Last of Us and Tomb Raider to take home the Vector Monkey.

It marks the third time that Grand Theft Auto has left the event formerly known as the Video Game Awards with the Game of the Year crown. The other two games to win it were Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
