YouTube App Coming To Xbox One At Launch
We already know about the Twitch app being part of the Xbox One — for viewing videos at least — at launch, but now official word comes of another video streaming app coming to the latest console from Microsoft. That’s right, the YouTube App is coming the Xbox One, and it will be available to users on day one.
The Youtube app, which will allow full resolution video to be streamed, will take advantage of the Xbox One features — like Kinect — in order to make the user experience even better than it is on the Xbox 360.
From Microsoft:
- Voice – Control the app just by saying “YouTube” wherever you are in the app. Commands like play, pause and fast forward will instantly pop up on screen.
- Gesture – Grab the screen to scroll through videos and use your hand to pick which one you want to watch.
- Subscriptions – Stay up-to-date with all of your favorite channels so you don’t miss a second of the action.
The Xbox One’s snap feature won’t be available for use with the app at launch, but Microsoft did announce in its release that the feature, along with other unique elements to the app, will be coming at some point down the line.
