Steam Hits 65 Million Accounts

The people have spoken, and, clearly, Steam is where it’s at.

Valve has announced that Steam has surpassed 65 million active users which is up from the 50 million accounts that the company had in September 2012. Xbox Live, by comparison, has just 48 million users, and it’s unclear exactly how many PSN accounts there are.

Launched in 2003, Steam is now a decade old and is still growing every day. With Steam OS, Steam Machines and a Steam Controller all announced to be available to the public in 2014, Steam continues to become the dominant force in the gaming community. They also announced Linux Support and Early Release for games earlier this year.

Take that Microsoft and Sony!
