NBA 2k14: First Official Next-Gen Screenshot Released
It’s almost exactly a month away from the next generation of gaming making a public debut, and slowly but surely gamers are beginning to get their first peak at what the next gen has in store in terms of visuals.
Though we saw alpha footage of the game at this year’s E3 back in June, 2K Sports’ juggernaut basketball franchise NBA 2K14 has finally had its first official screenshot released to the public, and boy, is it beautiful. (Click the image above to view it in all its glory).
While the cap is certainly impressive on its own, the difference is bettwe shown when looking at a side-by-side comparison of the game on the current generation of consoles and the next gen. Thankfully, our friends at Operation Sports have put together just that for us to enjoy.
Just looking at the screenshots, there are a few differences that get noticed immediately. For example, the ball looks like an actual basketball and LeBron James’ hands actually look normal. Notice in the current gen image on the left, James’ hands look ridged where on the right they look smooth and, well, like hands.
Another improvement is the way the jersey looks. Instead of floating above the players body, it sits the way a jersey should on a body.
The graphics, so far, look incredible in NBA 2K14 on next gen, but it will all go for naught if the gameplay doesn’t live up to the hype. Hopefully, we’ll get a look at that soon.
