Elliswho scored the 2-run home run, withCarl Crawfordhitting the solo jack. Hyun-Jin Ryu tried his best to make up for his 3 inning start in the NLDS, going 6.2 innings and giving up only 2 ER over 6 hits, a walk and 7 K’s.
The Cardinals go up 2-1 in the series thanks to the likes ofMatt Adams. He finished 2-4 with a pair of 2-run home runs. Additionally,Tony Cruzcame in as a pinch hitter to score a sacrifice fly.Adam Wainwrightdidn’t get the win, but he did a good job as he went 6 innings and surrendered only 5 hits, 3 ER and struck out 4.Randy Choategot the win in relief.
