Tigers vs Athletics: Game 4

The Athletics win a pivotal Game 4 in the 9th inning to force a Game 5! First off, for the Tigers, Austin Jackson did the best he could to get his team the series win, going 3-5 with a run and an RBI to go with a stolen base. Torii Hunter also kept it going behind him, also going 3-5 and scoring two runs. Unfortunately it was all for naught as Joaquin Benoit had a disastrous outing by giving up 4 ER on 3 hits, a walk and a pinch hit 3-run HR to Josh Reddick and did not get anybody out.

The top 4 batters for the Athletics did not get a hit, but Daric Barton got an opportunity to produce for the first time this series and took full advantage of it. He went 2-4 with 2 RBI. As mentioned, Reddick provided most of the rest of the offense in one swing, taking Dan Straily off the hook for his 5 IP, 7 hit, 3 ER, 1 walk and 3 K start.
