Rays vs Red Sox: Game 3
Despite all the hits made by both teams (22 total), the combined outcome of 2 runs means it wasn’t even a great pitching matchup. Jennings, Longoria and Wil Myers each had two hits, but 3 team GIDP’s ruined any chance of scoring in this game. David Price didn’t even fare that well either, lasting only 5 innings and giving up 2 ER over 7 hits, 2 walks and 3 K’s.
Jacoby Ellsbury finally did something in Game 3, and that was to go 2-4 with a double. It also allowed David Ortiz to unlock his postseason baseball magic potential by slammajamming a 2-run HR for the game’s only scoring play. He finished 2-4 with a walk and 2 RBI. Unfortunately this team also created the first major injury, as Clay Buchholz left in the middle of the third inning with an apparent arm injury. Please don’t come screaming bloody murder if this happens to be true, Sox fans!
