Rays vs Red Sox: Game 2

Great Scott! Luke Scott went 3-4 with a solo and 2-run HR, leading the Rays offense both early and late in the game. Evan Longoria also answered for his sub-part Game 1 performance by going 2-4 to earn 3 RBI, score a run, homer and sacrifice fly out. Chris Archer looked Sterling out there with a complete game, 4 hit, 1 ER, 9 K performance.

The Red Sox postseason offense was notably absent for some key players. Jonny Gomes, Mike Napoli, even David Ortiz went 0-4 in this matchup. Dustin Pedroia had the lone RBI, but he finished 0-3 after hitting a sac fly. All of this makes John Lackey‘s loss that much harder, as his quality start of 6 IP, 3 ER, 7 hits, a walk and 4 K’s was all for naught.
